Vienna Fair 2009 - Event details   05/07/2009 - 05/10/2009 MESSEZENTRUM WIEN (VIENNA EXHIBITION CENTRE), Vienna, AUSTRIA   Description VIENNAFAIR - The International Contemporary Art Fair will be celebrating its fifth edition at the Messe Wien expo centre in 2009. Focusing on young art and new galleries the VIENNAFAIR represents the dynamic development on the international art scene with a heavy emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe. Every year this successful mix of established and new, national and international galleries is a point of attraction for collectors and people interested in art from all over the world. Pablo Picasso once claimed “The secret of art is finding and not searching“. With this in mind we would like to invite all art lovers to have a look around the VIENNAFAIR from the 7th – 10th May 2009 and to discover lots of contemporary art. At the VIENNAFAIR 2008 a total of 126 national and international galleries introduced over 1000 artists. The show is rounded off by a broad range of stage-led discussions, talks and presentations; all of which are open to every visitor at the show. Parallel: The Vienna “Festwochen“ culture festival By far the biggest festival of culture in Vienna the “Festwochen“ take place from the 8th May to the 14th June 2009. In 2008 The “Festwochen“ staged over 40 productions from over 24 countries, eight of which were new, 4 first nights and around 145 performances, all in front of a total of 178,000 at the individual events in this city of culture.
