The use of Service Delivery Platforms (SDPs) can be instrumental in reducing service creation and deployment time by enabling ecosystems for third party application developers, simplifying architectures and speeding up the integration of service into the network. However, in order to fulfil the promise and reap the full benefits of SDPs, operators will have to identify new business models, develop a new service delivery approach and modify the existing service delivery architectures. The evolution of the Service Delivery Platform in the age of Telco 2.0 and Web 2.0 is reflected both in the new title of the event - from ‘Evolving Service Delivery Platforms’ to ‘Service Delivery Frameworks 2.0’ – as well as in its content. IIR’s Service Delivery Frameworks 2.0 will examine the prerequisites for fully exploiting the capabilities of SDPs, will address the technical and business challenges and will identify opportunities that arise for operators that adopt a holistic view of the service delivery environment.
