Discover how European service providers are deploying fibre in their access networks to deliver profitable mass market video and interactive services
FTTx is one of Europe’s fastest developing markets. It’s also one of the most sensitive to changes in regulation, technology, services and new entrants. The first major wave of European investment in fibre networks is well underway and operators already running FTTx/xDSL networks are evolving their businesses to deliver high value, content dense services.
Investing in fibre in the access domain is the primary strategy being adopted by operators seeking to raise ARPU and reduce churn by delivering high value IP video and interactive content to mass markets.
IIR Telecoms & Technology launched FTTx Summit in order to meet the strong unmet demand for information on fibre deployments and business models from operators from Europe and beyond. FTTx Summit 2007 was run in Munich in June, where it attracted over 180 registered attendees, over 50% of them operators, from more than 20 countries.
For FTTx Summit 2008, we’re adding a fully integrated Home Networking Forum, to reflect the growing importance of the area to the success of operators’ business models – FTTx Summit & Home Networking Forum will deliver over 40 case study sessions from senior decision makers who are defining the new deployment infrastructure and evolving their businesses to generate new, content rich, revenue streams.
