Meetings of the Three Divisions of the International Union of Microbiological Societies


We wish to welcome you to the IUMS Congresses 2008 which will be held in the beautiful city Istanbul, 5-15 August 2008 and hosted by the Turkish Microbiological Society, Society of Microbial Ecology and Society of Chemotherapy. There will be three congresses: the XII. International Congress of Bacteriology and Applied Microbiology (5-9 August 2008), XII. International Congress of Mycology (5-9 August 2008) and XIV. Congress of Virology (10-15 August 2008).

Microbes are essential for human life in many respects. The development of the knowledge on the microbial world has provided a deeper understanding of microbes, which is needed to address current problems in medicine, veterinary medicine, dental medicine, agriculture, industry, environment and many other aspects.

IUMS Congresses are international conferences that brings together a wide range of experience and perspectives. IUMS 2008 will be an excellent opportunity not only to share ideas and experiences but also to establish and improve friendships among colleagues from around the world.
