Description
Topics in Emergency Medicine, now in it’s 37th year, is a practical review and update of emergency medicine for emergency physicians, family practitioners, internists, and pediatricians. The course covers a wide variety of adult and pediatric emergencies seen in emergency departments, urgent care and office settings. Cardiac, infectious disease, neurologic and ophthalmic emergencies are covered, as well as orthopedic, pulmonary, dermatologic and gynecologic problems. Lectures and workshops are taught by both emergency medicine physicians and specialists in a variety of disciplines with the emphasis on initial evaluation, treatment and indications for consultation and referral.We are proud to offer this year's course free of industry support.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this program participants should be able to:
- Describe the latest methods for evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of emergency problems;
- List the techniques and medications for assessment and reduction of acute pain;
- Identify advances in the field of emergency medicine that can improve outcomes.
