Sustainability is globally not negotiable, and in South Africa, given our new constitution, humaneness and inclusivity are equally vital social elements. As such creating a sustainable, humane and inclusionary built environment is the focus of the SAIA Convention 2008. Join architects, property owners, policy makers and other built environment industry stakeholders as they grapple with the challenges and opportunities that this endeavour may present.

Leading architects and other built environment experts from South Africa and abroad will deliver a series of lectures and presentations across the themes.
Nnamdi Elleh, expert of African architecture and based in the US; Karan Grover, celebrated Indian architect based in India; and Joe Osae Addo from Accra; as well as leading South African architects will speak on the theme of moving towards a sustainable, humane and inclusionary built environment. The speaker panel will also lead a series of workshops and discussion forums geared to fleshing out a deeper understanding of the issues and also initiating programs to implement recommendations and undertakings by stakeholders.
