The Open Source Developers' Conference 2008 is a conference run by open source developers, for developers and business people. It covers numerous programming languages across a range of operating systems, and related topics such as business processes, licensing, and strategy. Talks vary from introductory pieces through to the deeply technical.
This year, the fifth annual conference will be in Sydney during the first week of December (2nd - 5th), and will be held at the SMC conference venue located in the Sydney CBD.
With three developer talks on at any time, spanning over the three days of the main conference, and the Google hackfest on the Tuesday before the main conference, there is bound to be something of interest to any developer.
We have the following exceptional keynote speaker lineup confirmed for this year's conference:
- Andrew Tridgell
- Anthony Baxter
- Chris DiBona
- Larry Wall
- Pia Waugh
OSDC is a great place for developers to learn more about what's out there. Too often developers find themselves too busy solving tasks in the now, to learn better solutions for tomorrow. OSDC helps to overcome that by helping developers learn about new tools, tricks and practices that will help them be more efficient. In meeting other developers, we hope that attendees will develop a network of skilled friends and professionals whom they can refer to for years to come.
