Description
|
The objective of this course is to present the latest clinical, theoretical, and research findings on bipolar disorder in children, adolescents, adults and their families. As a result of attending this course, participants will be able to better assess, diagnose, and treat bipolar disorder. Attendees will learn about the biological, psychological, cultural, and sociological factors effecting treatment and outcome. Approaches include psychoeducational, cognitive, dialectical-behavioral, psychopharmacologic, complementary, and other evidence-based interventions. Additional topics include developmental issues, neuroimaging findings, co-occurring disorders, education, and advocacy for individuals and families. The course is intended for mental health and medical clinicians, researchers and others interested in bipolar disorder.
