Imaging and Intervention on the Mayan Riviera - Event details   01/04/2009 - 01/09/2009 FAIRMONT MAYAKOBA RESORT, Playa del Carmen, MEXICO   Description This course will be presented by established academic radiologists from UCSF representing various subspecialties. A broard array of contemporary imaging problems will be addressed, including problems in neuro and non-neuro CT and MRI. Common issues encountered in diagnostic ultrasound, mammography and basic interventional radiology will be reviewed. The course will focus on current practical applications of diagnostic imaging with a discussion of recent advances in each area. At the completion of this course, the participant will be able to: 1. Describe the reporting and imaging components of a complete obstetrical ultrasound as outlined by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, including the most recent updates; 2. Have a basic understanding of the role of alternative breast imaging techniques in diagnostic breast imaging and the challenges posed in converting from screen film to digital mammography; 3. List the significant findings in imaging of liver, kidney and pancreatic transplants; 4. Determine the appropriate imaging modality for assessing the biliary system, depending upon the suspected pathology; 5. Distinguish the different types of common hepatic tumors; 6. Cite indications for hepatic arterial chemoembolization; 7. Describe the techniques of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation of hepatic lesions; 8. Apply the technique of computed tomographic coronary angiography; And much more...
