AUSTRAUMA 2009 Trauma, Critical Care, Emergency Surgery Conference - Event details   02/12/2009 - 02/14/2009 SYDNEY CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE DARLING HARBOUR, Sydney, AUSTRALIA   Description We greatly look forward to the Austrauma 2009 conference with another excellent and world renown International faculty from the United States, France, Switzerland and New Zealand. We also welcome a superb Australian faculty with trauma, critical care and emergency care leaders from almost every State. Our greatest highlight for 2009 is the involvement of the International Committee of the Red Cross and one of their Chief Surgeons, Dr Chris Giannou. We will have sessions on Global Trauma Systems, Rural Trauma, Disaster Management, Civilian and War Medicine, Difficult and Challenging Emergency Surgery, Neurotrauma, Obstetric and Paediatric Trauma Care, Critical care Complexities and Orthopedic Injuries. We will also have the well received Debates and Case Scenarios. Due to last year's oversubscription and success of the Workshop Day, Austrauma 2009 will dedicate a full covering a number of workshops in Trauma, Critical Care and Emergency Surgery. Also due to the great oversubmission of abstracts, we have included a new Research Forum as part of this 3 day Congress. An increasing interest and demand has led to the development of a comprehensive hospital-based Australian Disaster Preparedness Course with a unique surgical perspective.
