IFRS Summit New York - Event details

12/04/2008 - 12/05/2008 TBA, New York, USA  (New York)

Description
Why should I attend?

In the United States, the general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) have been the rules and standards used by public companies to report their finances. In 2007, the SEC announced a proposal that they will develop a roadmap to consider premitting- or requiring IFRS reporting by US companies registered with the SEC. Currently, about 40% of the Fortune Global 500 companies are already using these new standards. All those with a stake in financial reporting for public companies in the US must educate themselves on these changes before falling behind.

Consequently, IFRS has become the most important topic in the auditing sector. Finding experts on IFRS is difficult because the topic is so new. However, IQPC has 14 expert speakers to help assist you in this major transition.

For Professors And Grad Students:

Please enjoy a special academia pricing of $999

Survey results released Sept. 4, 2008 by KPMG LLP and the American Accounting Association show that “Relatively few universities currently have a strategy in place to incorporate International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) into accounting curricula in the 2008-2009 academic year.”
